Insplorion's application for financing the multi-gas sensor project, InAir, has been approved and financed with EUR 50,000 within the SME instrument phase 1. The grant will be used for a feasibility study and a survey of the market for multi-gas sensors. The results will be used in Insplorion's plan for further development of the present nitrogen dioxide sensor.

Insplorion has developed a nitrogen dioxide sensor (NO2) that is planned to be introduced on the market towards the end of 2019. Insplorion's technology, NanoPlasmonic Sensing (NPS) is a platform technology that can be adapted for detection of several different gases. Insplorion intends to implement sensitivity for several gases to the sensor platform during 2020 to enable complete air quality measurements on a single chip. Among others are gases such as carbon monoxide (CO), ground-level ozone (03) and sulfur dioxide (SO2) important for air quality measurements, which will be included in the survey. An approved and completed SME phase 1 project also allows for significantly larger grant funding within phase 2.

"Our battery sensor project has previously been well-positioned in competition for European funding and we are now pleased that the gas sensor platform also has proven both the technical and market quality required for financing through the SME program", says Patrik Dahlqvist, CEO of Insplorion.
