Main patent will be approved May 23rd in USA
Insplorion's main patent "Sensor Using Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance (LSPR)" has got now obtained “issue of notification” and will be approved May 23rd 2017 according to USPTO.
The international patent application was filed in May 2010 and has previously been approved in Japan in early 2015, followed by China at the end of 2016. The patent, with application number 13/261,045 now receives patent number US 9,658,157 and covers the possibility to adjust the sensor surface to study different reactions and processes. It is predicted to provide a good protection since this is central for the strengths of the technology, such as its robustness and specific sensitivity to different molecules, within both business areas, Instruments and Sensor Systems. The patent provides protection in USA until 12 October 2030.

With this secured, we can boost our sales efforts within the Instrument business as a “Sole Source” which is helpful in the procurement process.
