FITNESS EGGSTRAVAGANZA AT CENTRAL
St Helens based Central Fitness is hosting a charity eggtravaganza throughout April to raise money for the Ormskirk Neonatal Unit at the Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust.
From April 1st until the 30th the company will be allowing members to bring a friend to the Central Fitness gym for free if they donate an Easter egg to a collection which will be presented to the parents and siblings of babies in the neonatal unit. Everyone that visits the gym will also be invited to donate some money, which will also be presented to the hospital at the end of the month. Nick Tildesley, Centre Manager at Central Fitness, said: “People can find themselves with an Easter egg overload at this time of year, which doesn’t help if you are on a fitness drive. “Instead of throwing eggs away, or, even worse eating them and undoing any hard work that has been done in the gym, we are inviting members to donate them to a very worthy cause. “Anyone that does bring an Easter egg can also bring a friend to use our facilities free of charge, and everyone is invited to donate money to the special baby care unit too. Shirley Coward, Matron for Paediatrics and Neonatal at the Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust, said: “The Easter egg donation is a wonderful idea and although the babies are obviously a bit young, we shall give them to their brothers or sisters to share. We are always grateful for any donation, no matter how big or small, which will help us continue in our efforts to look after the hundreds of babies that are admitted to the neonatal unit each year.” Management at Central Fitness are open to ideas and suggestions for fundraising activities from members of the gym during the month of April. -ends-
