CENTRAL FITNESS GIVES GIFTS GALORE

A month of fundraising at St Helens based Central Fitness resulted in gifts galore for families whose children are being treated at the Ormskirk Neonatal Unit at the Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust. Bottles, bibs, booties and blankets were donated for the babies along with chocolate, DVD’s, books, toys and drawing sets for visiting brothers and sisters. Gifts for parents included tasty treats and printer paper and ink for those all important first family photographs. Throughout April Central Fitness collected money and worked with staff at the hospital to come up with a wish list

Blackpool International’s Firefighters Take on the Three Peaks Challenge!

Firefighters from Blackpool International are set to scale the UK’s three highest mountains in just 24 hours to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.Blackpool International’s White Watch are tackling Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon starting on May 18th. Firefighter Joe Reidy enlisted his crew to start training for the renowned Three Peaks Challenge after hearing about Lisa Taylor, a close family friend, and her determination to increase awareness of the most common type of cancer in the UK. So far Lisa has raised more than £1000 after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009.

LYNNE HAS GONE TIGERTASTIC!

Lynne Gorrie has gone all tigertastic after a hair make-over in aid of her favourite fundraising organisation 21st Century Tiger. The Blackpool Zoo regular decided to have her hair styled just like her favourite resident Zambar the Amur tiger after learning of the plight of his critically endangered relatives across the world at a members’ only presentation at the zoo. After weeks of fundraising in the area Lynne, who is 54, went to Athena Hair on Waterloo Rd in Blackpool to have her long hair shaved off and tiger stripes dyed onto her head. FITNESS EGGSTRAVAGANZA AT CENTRAL

St Helens based Central Fitness is hosting a charity eggtravaganza throughout April to raise money for the Ormskirk Neonatal Unit at the Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust.From April 1st until the 30th the company will be allowing members to bring a friend to the Central Fitness gym for free if they donate an Easter egg to a collection which will be presented to the parents and siblings of babies in the neonatal unit. Easter Penguin extravaganza at Blackpool Zoo!Blackpool Zoo is gearing up for an Easter with a difference by organising a whole host of penguin related fun activities. Between 11.00am and 4pm from Friday 2nd to Monday 5th of April there will be pretend penguin racing, Easter trails and storytelling. Visitors will be invited to take part in the race by squeezing a balloon between their knees and run ‘penguin style’ in the hope of being crowned the winner. Lynne’s hair to go all tigertastic…….Blackpool Zoo regular, Lynne Gorrie, has fallen head over heals in love with Zambar the new Amur Tiger and is having her hair styled just like his to help save his relatives across the world.
