Iveco will offer visitors an insight into the future of light commercial vehicle design at the CV Show, when its striking Iveco Vision concept vehicle makes its debut in the UK.

The Iveco Vision is being used for the development of new technological solutions and future modes of transport, representing the natural evolution of Iveco’s Daily light commercial vehicle range. Its creation is centred on low environmental impact mobility and a sophisticated dual energy system which self-adapts to the most suitable traction mode – one is exclusively electric, ensuring zero local emissions and low noise levels, and the other is hybrid (thermoelectric) and suitable for longer journeys and extra-urban missions.

Unique features include ‘see-through’ front pillars to guarantee unrestricted driver visibility, plus a rear-view camera displayed on a panoramic screen above the windscreen. It uses a fully automatic system for load management and is equipped with a high-integration tablet, which communicates seamlessly with the on-board electronics.

International Van of the Year

Leading the line-up of 2015 model year product on the 900m² stand will be at least four New Dailys, fresh from Iveco’s success winning the fiercely contested International Van of the Year Award 2015.

Iveco is using the CV Show as the official UK launch platform for the all-new Hi-Matic gearbox in New Daily; the first eight-speed automatic transmission to feature in a vehicle range in this class. The ZF-built transmission has already set the industry standard in the premium car market, with customers including Maserati and Jeep – it is now set to offer Iveco operators a four per cent reduction in fuel consumption and a 4kg weight saving versus the previous generation AGile gearbox.

An example of the Hi-Matic transmission will be showcased on the stand, as well as featuring in a number of key display models. One such exhibit to benefit will be a 3.5 tonne long wheelbase, high-roof, New Daily offering an exceptional 19.6mᵌ loadspace – making it the largest panel van on the UK market. Powered by a 205hp engine, the vehicle offers approximately 14 per cent additional load space compared with the largest previous-generation Daily van. This makes it ideal for operators carrying goods which typically ‘cube out’ before reaching the maximum gross vehicle weight; offering the potential to reduce vehicle movements, whilst affording the flexibility of a van which can be driven on a standard driving licence.

Iveco will also be exhibiting a high-spec 3.5 tonne ‘Platinum’ edition New Daily van, targeted at owner-drivers and small-businesses eager to experience additional style and comfort.

There will also be two New Daily chassis cabs on show – a 3.5 tonne model with a new generation super-lightweight Luton body, and a range-topping 7.2 tonne tipper, highlighting the breadth of Iveco’s light commercial vehicle range.

Truck product

On display alongside the New Dailys will be a trio of Iveco trucks, led by a flagship Stralis Hi-Way AS440S56TX/P 6x2 twin-steer tractor which will stand-out for its ultra-high specification.

Fitted with Iveco’s most powerful 560hp engine – which uses innovative Hi-SCR technology to avoid the need for EGR at Euro VI – this Stralis has been ordered with five additional ’option packs’, resulting in a huge array of on board extras for visitors to explore. These range from a state-of-the-art touch-screen infotainment and telematics system to additional on-board comforts for the driver, aluminium air tanks, plus advanced safety aids including a lane departure warning system and adaptive cruise control.

The Stralis Hi-Way will sit alongside a Stralis Hi-Road AT440S42T/P 4x2 tractor unit, in a typical ‘fleet’ specification, to ensure the lowest total cost of ownership.

A 7.5 tonne Eurocargo 75E16 chassis completes the line-up of Ivecos on display, and represents the benchmark commercial vehicle in the European medium truck sector.
