Striking Eurocargo covered transporter for Carrs of Exeter

Ferrari and Maserati dealer Carrs of Exeter has taken delivery of a high-specification Iveco Eurocargo 75E18/P – custom built to provide a prestige collection and delivery service for customers nationwide.
Supplied by Hendy Truck & Van, the 4x2 Eurocargo rigid has been manufactured with an uprated 3,600kg front axle and rear air-suspension, together with air-conditioning for maximum driver comfort.
It has been mounted with a bespoke covered car transporter body built by J&J Conversions in Andover. This combination ensures a smooth ride and a low approach angle – critical when loading the sportiest and most exclusive Maseratis and Ferraris, which can be worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Lee Moore, Dealer Principal at Carrs of Exeter, explains: “We were in the market to replace our covered car transporter and considered a number of options, but the Iveco Eurocargo offered the best all-round solution.
“Each year we clock up more than 100,000 km collecting and delivering vehicles from all over the UK. The Ferrari Formula One team relies on Ivecos for moving its racing cars by road, so we felt the Eurocargo would be more than suitable for our own requirements.”
In operation up to six days a week, the new 7.5 tonner is expected to remain in service with the dealership for the next nine years.
It is powered by a 3.9 litre FPT Tector engine which is capable of producing up to 177 hp at 2,700 rev/min and 570 Nm of torque between 1,250 and 2,100 rev/min. This Enhanced Environmentally friendly Vehicle (EEV) rated engine is even cleaner than Euro 5, helping to minimise emissions.
Carrs of Exeter is part of Helston Garages Group, a privately owned West Country based dealer group which was founded in 1960 as a filling station and repairs workshop located in a small Cornish town. Today, the group has 37 franchised dealerships, of which Carrs of Exeter holds two of the most prestigious, thanks to its links with Ferrari and Maserati.
The dealership has been located in a modern purpose-built showroom since May 2006, which serves as the only official Maserati and Ferrari services centre and authorised dealership in the south west; covering Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset.
