Jobmatch Talent first to be certified by DNV-GL according to European Federation of Psychologists' Associations guidelines

JobMatch Talent has become the first Swedish occupational psychology test to be certified and quality assessed by the world leading certification body DNV-GL according to the European Federation of Psychologists' Associations' new requirements and criteria.

"This is a major recognition. Our existing customers already know that the test works, and now we also have the DNV-GL as a seal of quality, which clearly shows that our service is an effective tool for companies; for example in the recruitment process", says Klaus Olsen, MD of Jobmatch Sweden AB.

This type of certification means that test buyers can clearly see which tests are reliable. The fact that our tests are now certified represents major recognition, says Klaus Olsen, MD of JobMatch Sweden.

There are a number of different psychological tests on the market which are used by companies and municipalities in processes such as recruitment and employee development. There has long been a debate about how reliable these tests actually are, whether they can be scientifically validated and whether more exhaustive quality assessment would make it easier for test purchasers to understand which of them are up to the job.

"It has been difficult for purchasers of psychological tests to know which of them can actually help during processes such as recruitment. Everybody wants to recruit the candidate who fits in and will perform best. This is why we think it is extremely positive that this type of certification and quality assessment exists. This is a credible seal of quality which signals to both existing and potential customers that our test works."

Klaus Olsen feels that it is a result of the continuous and careful evaluation process and refinement of the test that JobMatch Talent has become the first Swedish psychological test to be certified by DNV-GL according to the EFPA's new requirement model.

"Together with researchers linked to Gothenburg University, we have worked for three years to develop the scientific documentation required to fulfil the criteria in the EFPA's new model and thus to be certified by DNV-GL. During the process we have refined our test and made it even more reliable and user-friendly, something the certification also confirms",says Klaus Olsen, MD of JobMatch Sweden.

DNV-GL has seen constantly increasing use of occupational psychology testing; a rough estimation is that in Norway alone 100,000 tests are carried out during recruitment processes every year.

"Together with increased use, we also see that many tests are lacking in quality. The purpose of our certification system is for us as an objective party to be able to verify that a test tool fulfils the requirements set. The fact that JobMatch Talent has now been certified shows that their test fulfils the requirements in an internationally recognised standard", says Andreas Kolstø, who is responsible for personal certification and certification within the HR area for DNV-GL in Sweden and Norway.

  • 2013: The European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations develops new guidelines for the requirements that psychological tests should fulfil.
     
  • 2015, March: DNV-GL begins its assessment of JobMatch Talent.
     
  • 2015, April: Stiftelsen för Tillämpad Psykologi transfers responsibility for assessment of psychological tests to the world-leading certification body Det Norske Veritas.
     
  • 2015, September: JobMatch Talent becomes the first Swedish psychological test certified and quality assessed by DNV-GL according to the EFPA's new guidelines.
