For several years, KappAhl has donated clothes and money to the Mayflower's work to improve children’s condition and tackle child poverty in Sweden. The value is about a quarter of a Swedish million kronor and recently KappAhl gave an additional amount of clothes

– Now in summertime, we want to donate clothes and money to the Mayflower’s Galtarö, a summer camp for children who for various reasons, need to get away and have a fun and wonderful summer adventure. Mayflower's work is very important and it is valuable to us and our employees to contribute to their business, says Kajsa Räftegård, Vice President Human Resources and Public Relations at KappAhl.

2009 KappAhl was elected the Flowering Business of the Year, an award that goes to companies that make the best effort to assist and encourage children in their fundraising work.
     – KappAhl has all these years with great enthusiasm, accepted and been committed to the Mayflower’s work for economically disadvantaged children in Sweden. We are very excited for our cooperation and the recently donation will greatly benefit Galtarö. In addition to that the houses need to be repaired and repainted, other things are continuously needed such as bench tables and special playing nets to put up in the trees so that the children will have giant hammocks. Each donation allows this, says Lena Holm, General Secretary at Mayflower.

Through various activities, KappAhl supports Mayflower’s work long term and the total value is about one quarter of a million. In addition to contributions to Galtarö, KappAhl opens in May each year the doors for the young sellers of Mayflowers. KappAhl contribute with as much as the sum of the sales.
     – There are skilled and motivated young salesmen who come from schools nearby and give us a wonderful experience of their visit, says Kajsa Räftegård.
