The Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment of Southern Ostrobothnia (ELY Centre) has confirmed that Keliber’s Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report for the main mining areas and concentrator site complies with formal requirements set forth in the EIA legislation. Further the ELY Centre states that the report does not contain substantial deficiencies.

Keliber will carefully consider the ELY Centre's remarks in the further planning of the project and in the environmental permitting phase of the concentrator and mines. We have started, among other things, advanced modeling of the area's water management, detailed studies on the area's fauna, supplementing the Natura 2000 assessment, and large-scale pilot tests using Rapasaari ore.

”We are pleased with the constructive cooperation with the local residents, the ELY Centre and others engaged in the EIA process. We target to submit the permit application for the concentrator and main mining to the authorities before the summer holiday season”, says Hannu Hautala, CEO of Keliber.
