The final meeting related to the proceedings establishing the Syväjärvi mining area has been held. In the proceedings establishing the mining area, the landowner compensations were defined with respect to the use of the land area for mining and to the inconvenience and damages caused by the mining operations. In addition, the redemption of two properties was resolved based on the request made by the landowners concerned.

After the company has paid the defined compensations, it has the right to use the Syväjärvi area for the purposes assigned in the mining permit granted by the Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency (Tukes) in December 2018, following the terms of environmental permit.

“The proceedings establishing the Syväjärvi mining area is an important milestone for us. Completing the proceedings enables us to progress towards the construction phase of our Lithium Project. Our target is to start the preparatory works preceding the actual construction phase in the Syväjärvi mining area already this year,” says Pertti Lamberg, CEO of Keliber.
