Farmers’ cooperative extends successful Machinery Scheme to include Amazone and Merlo

Report this content

Leading farm inputs purchasing and crop marketing cooperative, AtlasFram Group, has expanded its highly-successful Machinery Scheme to include the popular Amazone and Merlo ranges, which will provide a talking point on its stand (R56 – Avenue- M) at the LAMMA Show this month.

The most successful of its type in the UK, the AtlasFram Machinery Scheme enables Members to enjoy significant rebates on a wide range of agricultural equipment, over and above any discounts that they might be able to negotiate with an official UK dealer. To benefit from the special terms which AtlasFram has negotiated directly with machinery manufacturers Members simply submit a copy of the dealer’s invoice to the Group. Rebates on larger purchases can run into thousands of pounds and regularly exceed the annual cost of AtlasFram Membership.

Jon Fovargue, Machinery Manager, states: “The Machinery Scheme is a key part of AtlasFram’s service to our Members and we now purchase more than £16 million of agricultural machinery annually on their behalf. This latest announcement builds on our strong, successful relationship with CaseIH, with whom we operate a unique Fleet Purchasing Arrangement which provides Members with significant financial savings that they would otherwise be unable to obtain. Members will be delighted that we have been able to negotiate special terms with Amazone and Merlo, two highly-respected manufacturers whose products are widely used on UK farms.”

Amazone, a leading manufacturer of agricultural machinery, offers a comprehensive range for arable and grassland farms, including fertiliser spreaders, seed drills, powered and non-powered cultivation equipment, precision air-seeders and crop protection sprayers. Widely known and respected for developing innovative solutions, its products are highly regarded for their quality, reliability, outstanding operational performance, excellent service support and high retained value. AtlasFram Group’s agreement covers the entire Amazone range, including the latest ‘Generation 2011’ drills and Pantera 4001 self-propelled sprayer.

Merlo is the world’s leading manufacturer of telehandlers with hydrostatic transmission and this is a key feature of their range, which includes products designed specifically for UK farming conditions. The Turbofarmer range, for example, includes 14 models with engines of up to 140hp, lift capacities of up to 4.1 tonnes, a choice of front axle configuration and large cabs which offer excellent visibility.

A highly-successful farmer-owned cooperative with an annual turnover of £168 million, AtlasFram Group purchases all types of farm inputs and markets combinable crops on behalf of 1060 Members, who collectively farm more than 300,000 hectares throughout the UK. The Group attracts professional arable and livestock farmers who recognise the value of belonging to a large, expertly-managed input purchasing and crop marketing business which operates entirely on their behalf.

In addition to financial savings on a wide range of inputs, from fuel, fertiliser and ag-chem to workshop equipment, tyres, electricity, building materials, feed, animal health products and mobile ‘phones, AtlasFram Members benefit from access to a team of product specialists. Working solely in the best interests of Members, they provide expert advice on a wide range of farming-related issues, advise when to place orders to obtain the best discounts and ensure that products are delivered on time, to the right location. Members receive just one monthly invoice that shows all purchases, which further reduces the time and cost of administration.
