Our research, development and innovation unit in Lempäälä is looking for a

Head of RDI for the Construction business area.

 

In this role, you will be a leader of our RDI team for the construction business. Together with the entire RDI unit, your team (around ten people) will create solutions which enable Kiilto to achieve its ambitious targets in terms of growth and environmental leadership. The keywords along the way are green innovations, services and digitalisation. Together with your team, you will take care of our new product, solution and innovation pipeline, which includes both incremental and radical innovations. You will explore and identify new technologies, with a view to applying them to help our customers enhance their business. You will develop and leverage influential networks consisting of business partners, internal stakeholders, external industries, academic partners, and standardisation and supplier connections. You will work internationally in close collaboration with our other RDI units and stakeholders. You will report to the RDI Director. We expect you to be permanently located in the Tampere region, but you must be able and willing to travel.

You will be a key contributor influencing the future of the Kiilto Construction business, making it more efficient and environmentally friendly.

 

Background that would be the best fit for this job:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field (mandatory requirement), a doctoral degree would be considered an advantage

  • A proven track record in leading a team
  • A proven track record in understanding customers’ needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence effectively
  • The ability to lead your team in a manner that develops individuals and promotes teamwork
  • Skills in focusing on the essential and prioritising
  • Fluent communication in English, other languages (Swedish, Russian and Finnish) are considered an asset
  • Understanding of chemistry
  • Basic understanding and experience of construction would be an advantage
