Productivity sprint with new D3 PVAc adhesive

Kiilto has developed a new D3 PVAc adhesive which enables our woodworking customers to jump to the next level in production efficiency. It also offers a replacement to commonly used urea-formaldehyde products without compromises in performance.

The new product, Kestokol D 320 HF, was developed for use with high frequency presses and allows shorter pressing times than previously possible, with throughput times as short as 20-40 s in glulam board production.

One of the issues with previous generation fast PVAc products has been the short open time, which doesn’t allow smooth production. With this new development, that is no longer the case, and the new product has a long open time. The thermal or heat resistance is important for end use performance, here also the new product delivers and has a clear edge over previous generations.

Formaldehyde emissions are a hot topic throughout Europe due to tightening regulations, and with this product, with a low value of <20 ppm in the ISO 15373 test, we can offer a replacement to commonly used urea-formaldehyde products without compromises in performance.

We at Kiilto want to be the leading partner for healthy living also in the future. This means we are currently developing efficient & low formaldehyde solutions also for other woodworking sectors such as the window and door industry.
