NAPS PROCUREMENT PROGRAM FOR COMMON PURCHASING

Report this content

Since 1991, NAPS has been a leader in assisting companies interested in manufacturing in Mexico.

NAPS assists with the relocation of labor-intensive processes to cities in Baja California and Chihuahua. NAPS’ administrative services include site selection, accounting, human resources, import-export and environmental compliance.

NAPS recognized the benefit of starting a sourcing program for existing clients and launched a joint purchasing initiative in 2010. The first step in implementing the common purchasing program was to contact each of the clients and document the types of supplies; products employed for MRO; packaging products; cleaning supplies; as well as tools that clients regularly utilize in their Mexico operations.

This program has proven to be a value added service that results in substantial cost savings and less stress for clients. In the past six months, NAPS’ clients have achieved the following range of savings in by participating in the NAPS procurement program:

Safety Supplies - 4% to 40%
Tools - 1% to 27%
Packaging Material - 6% to 40%
Janitorial Supplies - 4% to 27%

Some of the companies that are collaborating with NAPS in offering joint purchasing opportunities are Kent H. Landsberg, Grupo Kym, Industrial Safety and Pacific Distribution Center.
