Ever thought about fostering?

An Information Session for anyone interested in fostering takes place in Knowsley on Monday (April 14).

Knowsley Council’s Fostering Service will be on hand with information and to answer questions at the River Alt Resource Centre, Woolfall Heath Avenue, Huyton, from 6-7pm.

There will also be the opportunity to meet foster carers who are already fostering for Knowsley, to find out first hand what the role involves.

Anyone can be considered as a foster carer, regardless of age, sexuality, income, employment status, experience or marital status.

Foster carers give children a safe, supportive and loving home when his or her own family are unable to. They receive full training, ongoing support, and are paid for the care they provide.

In fact, for many people, fostering is a rewarding and viable career option – especially ideal for those who love spending time with children and young people.

Knowsley are particularly keen to hear from anyone who would be interested in fostering teenage children and those who could look after sibling groups, to help keep brothers and sisters together.

You don’ t have to live in Knowsley to foster for Knowsley, so the council would also like to hear from anyone living in surrounding areas who might be interested in finding out more.

If you would like to find out more about fostering for Knowsley, come along to the information session on Monday, or call the Fostering Service on 0151 443 3958.

You can also get more information on Knowsley Council’s website www.knowsley.gov.uk (search for “fostering”), or by ‘liking’ Foster for Knowsley on Facebook www.facebook.com/FosterforKnowsley.
