Kungsleden has decided to pull down the vacant property Skiftinge 1:3 in Eskilstuna. The property located next to E20 has previously accommodated the shopping mall Rondellen, but is since several years empty.

Kungsleden AB (publ) acquired the property Skiftinge 1:3 as a part of the large portfolio purchased from GE Capital Real Estate in 2013. The property, built in 1978 and totaling 9,500 sqm, has been vacant for many years. Additionally, the property does not meet the standards required for a modern retail building.

Therefore, Kungsleden has decided to pull down the property in order to better serve the land which has a first class commercial location right next to the E20 motorway.

“The old mall Rondellen has been vacant for many years and it is time that the area comes to better use; for the municipality, for the people of Eskilstuna and for us as property owners. This is why we have started to pull down the property. We are currently in discussions with the municipality about the areas future development”, says Frida Stannow Lind, Head of Development at Kungsleden.

Kungsleden is one of Eskilstuna’s largest commercial property owners with several office and retail properties in the city center.
