Kungsleden is divesting an electricity grid in Finnslätten to Mälarenergi in Västerås. Kungsleden is thereby refining its operations in line with the company’s strategy.

“This is a good piece of business for our tenants and for us. Mälarenergi has the necessary long-term perspective and know-how to maintain the facilities and further develop them in an optimal manner for customers, and the transaction allows us to fully focus on our work with Vision Finnslätten – to develop the area into an inspiring environment for high-tech and electricity-intensive companies together with other operators,” says Mats Eriksson, Regional Manager Mälardalen at Kungsleden.
In July 2018, Kungsleden and Mälarenergi signed a transfer agreement for media installations at Finnslätten. The transfer of water supply, sanitation and cooling was carried our earlier. The transaction, which is now being finalised, was contingent upon utility easements being granted to Mälarenergi.
“The facilities we are acquiring supplement our existing facilities in Västerås. We are improving our long-term ability to drive and develop a high level of supply and customer-adapted solutions with electric power at Finnslätten and the surrounding area,” says Niklas Gunnar, CEO of Mälarenergi.
