Company Making Handmade Notebooks Launches Crowdfunding Campaign to Expand Business and Reward Customers
Kraft Studios makes 100 percent handmade notebooks from quality papers, cloth, cardboard, and glue. Its crowdfunding campaign will enable the company to expand to a worldwide market.
UNITED KINGDOM–A return to the quality and craftsmanship of a handmade product is what drives the artists at Kraft Studios to make their 100 percent handmade journals. Rather than mass-produced notebooks, Kraft Studios produces 200-page journals for writers, designers, sketchers, and anyone who appreciates an elegant but functional notebook. Now with success under its belt, the company is utilizing a crowdfunding campaign to expand to an international client base and reward customers who share in their vision.
The artisans at Kraft Studios care as much about the traditions of bookbinding as they do the journals they create. “We want to promote the traditions and not the machines,” said co-owner Monica Vlad. “Technology has a great impact on our lives, and people have forgotten how nice is to make things using their hands.”
Kraft Studio books are completely handmade, manual work is used in every step of the process from sewing pages to cutting the cardboard and gluing the bookmark and cloth. “We want to give our customers original products made by people like old times,” said Vlad. The personal attention given to every notebook provides both durability and elegance.
Having tried many supplies, the artists at Kraft Studios have discovered the highest quality materials with which to create their journals. “We care about our customers, and we strive to improve our techniques to make high quality, professional notebooks that are versatile enough to fit everyone’s needs,” said Vlad. Perfect for sketching and drawing, their archival-quality journals are compatible with various inks and come in three colors: dark grey, light green, and orange with the option to personalize the design. Books are eight inches tall and six inches wide with 200 blank pages inside.
With a goal of raising $6,000, the crowdfunding campaign designed to bring Kraft Studios into the global marketplace begins at a $1 support level. Those contributing $25 receive one notebook in any of the three colors while those contributing $50 will be receiving two notebooks in choice of color. Those contributing $150 receive seven notebooks in choice of color. In each case, a fee applies for shipping outside the United Kingdom.
