My First Buddha Seeks Funding to Bring Serenity and Smiles to America
Designed to promote peace and love, these handmade, plush Buddhas have completed production and now require funding for stocking and distribution in the United States.
Justin and Ani de Graaf, the creators of the world’s first handmade My First Buddha, have launched a campaign to raise $15000 by May 17, 2014. Funds are needed in order to pre-finance the stocking and distribution of the 11-inch and 16-inch no allergenic plush dolls in the United States. Designed to offer happiness, joy and prosperity, the Buddha dolls have completed all phases of development and production and are now ready for distribution. An American distribution home has already been established in Ashland, Oregon.
“We were so moved by the way Buddha conveys love, kindness and peace that we felt compelled to do something with the Buddhist life philosophy,” said Justin de Graaf, who came up with the idea of My First Buddha, along with his wife Ani, after their travels to Thailand. “My First Buddha is our way of contributing to a better world.” Already very popular in the Netherlands, these dolls are designed to not only promote inner peace and tranquility, but also to expose people to the Buddhist way of life– perfect for gift giving, baby showers, hospitals and yoga studios.
Appropriate for all ages, each of these handmade plush dolls is designed with a loving and serene expression. Highly detailed hands and face, a real saffron robe, and an enchanting embedded Tibetan bell, add to the Buddha’s appeal. Colors available include Tibet gold and Thai lotus white.
Although the dolls have been available online in the United States since 2013, contributions to the My First Buddha campaign will enable the dolls to reach a new level of marketing. Toy stores and large retail stores throughout America will receive shipments after the base $15000 goal is reached.
Supporters of this funding project will enjoy perks based on pledge levels such as a My First Buddha Key Holder and a My First Buddha T-shirt, available for $15 and $25 respectively; a $30 contribution gets the donor an early bird 11-inch Buddha deliverable in May 2014; and a $200 donation nets the “Many friends package” filled with eight Buddhas.
