Lanthem, with Lantmännen and Hemsö, acquires properties on Gotland
Lanthem, a real estate company jointly owned by Lantmännen Real Estate and Hemsö, has entered into an agreement with Hemsö to acquire nine community properties on Gotland. The largest tenant is Region Gotland. The acquisition took place on December 16, 2024.
The properties cover a rentable area of 38,000 square meters and mainly house elderly care operations. Region Gotland rents most of the space, which, in addition to elderly care, also includes a health center, dental care, and LSS (support and service for persons with certain functional impairments) operations.
Lanthem, equally owned by Lantmännen Real Estate and Hemsö, develops and manages community properties with a primary focus on schools and elderly care facilities.
"The acquisition is in line with Lanthem's business plan for continued growth, where Gotland is an important region. Lantmännen already owns properties on Gotland and has a local management organization, which will benefit the tenants. Hemsö, which does not have local management, is selling to free up management resources for other municipalities where Hemsö is growing. We are pleased to continue our collaboration with Region Gotland through Lanthem," says Nils Styf, CEO Hemsö.
"Lanthem's acquisition is a strategic step to strengthen our presence and commitment on Gotland. We have extensive experience in management and a long-term ownership approach, which ensures that our tenants can feel secure with us as owners. We look forward to continuing our cooperation with the municipality within the framework of both Lanthem and Lantmännen's other operations in the region," says Joachim Haas, CEO Lantmännen Real Estate.
This is the latest of Lantmännen's real estate transactions. Recently, the company announced a major development project in Norrköping's port through the jointly owned company Lantstaden.
