Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Lantmännen delivered record earnings in 2020, which has enabled a record dividend of SEK 902 that will now be paid to its members, Swedish farmers. The dividend resolution was adopted by the Association Annual Meeting today.

The dividend to members − that was voted through at the Lantmännen Annual Association Meeting − is the highest dividend in Lantmännen’s history, SEK 902 million in total. Since 2016, Lantmännen has paid around SEK 3 billion in dividends to its members.

“Looking back on 2020, we can now see that it up until now was our most successful year and the fantastic earnings from that year will now be shared with our members. We are delighted to be able to announce a new record dividend that contributes to our task of increasing profitability at our members’ farms. Together with our members, active Swedish farmers, we look forward to continuing to develop Swedish agriculture and contribute to securing the food supply in Sweden,” says Per Lindahl, Chair of the Lantmännen Board.

Lantmännen reported a profit for the year 2020 of MSEK 2,041 after net financial items and adjusted for items affecting comparability, a significant improvement on the 2019 earnings of MSEK 1,877.

“Lantmännen’s record performance in 2020 is proof that we have been successful in our long-term efforts to create robust and profitable businesses in all parts of our group. Our ability to deal with unexpected challenges has been put to the test during the pandemic, but so far, we have been able to manage this well, largely thanks to key initiatives from all our highly skilled and loyal employees,” said Per Olof Nyman, Lantmännen Group President and CEO.

“Our focused work on creating a more profitable and growing Swedish agriculture continues, including via billion kronor investments in the grain value chain and initiatives to reduce climate impact in every part of our enterprise. These are strategically important initiatives that benefit both Swedish farmers, Sweden’s food supply and society in general,” Nyman added.

The dividend was resolved on at the digital Association Annual Meeting today in accordance with the board proposal. The dividend will be paid on 21 May 2021.
