RURAL SKILLS PROGRAMME LAUNCHES £1m TRAINING GRANT SCHEME AT GREAT YORKSHIRE SHOW

LandSkills will announce its final winter training programme at the Great Yorkshire Show (13-15 July 2010).

Managed by Lantra Sector Skills Council on behalf of Yorkshire Forward, LandSkills will join the Yorkshire Forward and XL Vets stands to shout about its £1m winter training programme. LandSkills Programme Manager, Julie Hamilton, said: “We can’t wait to talk to farmers, foresters and growers about the exciting winter line up that we have planned. Not only will they be able to access progressive poultry training just in time for the Broiler Welfare Directive, succession planning and more but we will pay 70% towards the cost.” As part of the Rural Development Programme for England, LandSkills has helped 4,467 farmers, foresters and growers to improve the competitiveness of their business through skills development.
