RESET YOUR LIFE FOR FREE WITH ONE ELEMENT
London’s outdoor fitness training company, One Element, is launching its free 12-day food and exercise program on Monday 5th January 2015. RESET is guaranteed to provide you with more energy and concentration, help you lose weight and sleep better.
RESET, the 12-day food and exercise program has been devised by specialists in psychology and nutrition as well as top athletes. It is based on three main aspects: cognitive techniques, healthy fresh nutrition and fitness training that are achievable.
The unique aspect of this program is that it focuses on reframing relapse. Everyone is very effective and capable of making change for a short period of time, however the problem is how you see the relapse back to former habits. You will relapse, in fact, you are meant to relapse, and that is why the RESET program runs every 12 weeks. This ensures that the participants can take the positives from the first round and learn how to deal with that lapse and use tools to focus on something that did work.
“Changing behaviour is difficult because we are such creatures of habit. We often know what exactly we would like to do but we don’t do it. The reason why is because we are conflicted - because of the way our brain works. Our rational, logical brain knows that it makes good sense to make the change but our primitive emotional mid-brain (monkey brain) sees ‘change’ very differently because it is locked into the short-term where change is associated with effort, energy, and time.”
“Surprisingly, it is often the primitive midbrain that wins out and makes the decision for us. So we end up staying with the status quo! RESET incorporates a number of effective techniques that are known to help initiate positive change – it is time limited, it sets realistic and achievable goals, and it is also linked to extrinsic motivation, leveraging peer support and regular prompts and encouragement to stick with the programme,” says Dr Brian Marien, Director at Positive Group.
Achieving success with RESET can help to increase self-efficacy and confidence, which can transfer to subsequent efforts to change behaviour even when the monkey brain is saying ‘No’.
The program relies on habit forming which everyone does naturally. Developing positive habits is not easy, but this is one of the principles of RESET and regularly doing the program ensures that habits are changed over time.
Tom Marien, Founder of One Element and the RESET program, says: “Most people already know what to do to be healthy; eat well and exercise more, but we wanted to educate people how to make this a habit? The answer is by doing it over and over again and so that is why we run RESET every 12 weeks.”
Everyone can take part in the RESET program and more importantly it is FREE. Just sign-up online, a 12-day exercise schedule is tailored by One Element and a 12-day nutrition guide is provided by Peas & Figs and sent through to the individual. One Element then provides on-going support, in addition to other people taking part in the program via social media.
The next RESET program is due to start on Monday 5th January 2015 and more information can be found here www.reset-your-body.co.uk.
