Layer Group acquires Golvimporten to strengthen its offering in surface services
Layer Group is continuing in its drive to be a complete surface services supplier with the acquisition of the Borås company Golvimporten. Expanding to include Golvimporten is a major investment in Layer Group’s flooring segment, and in line with the group’s strategy for growth in surface services.
“Golvimporten is impressive, their CEO Pierre Nilsson and his management team run a company based on skilled employees, good profitability and smart business. Their expertise will be an important asset for Layer Group, and Golvimporten is exactly the right company for the vision we have for growth in flooring,” says John Strand, President and CEO, Layer Group.
Known for its full service concept for commercial flooring contracts, Golvimporten has established itself as a reliable partner for large retail and supermarket chains, schools and airports. This acquisition puts Layer Group in pole position to further develop the flooring segment and cooperation between its flooring businesses.
Layer Group – consisting of three segments: painting, industrial paint and flooring – is built on the power of local entrepreneurs. The flooring segment is now making a major leap forward with the acquisition of Golvimporten, which specialises in laying and servicing stone floors (terrazzo, ceramic granite, natural stone and composite terrazzo), an attractive service offering that will complement Layer Group’s other business operations.
Golvimporten’s sales organisation and well-developed concept will strengthen the group and enable synergies and collaborative benefits with other flooring companies within Layer Group across Sweden. Layer Group is based on a model where each company is responsible for its local brand, while networks and collaborative forums drive overall development. Golvimporten will provide further momentum in these contexts and in the growth of the flooring segment.
“Becoming part of Layer Group is a perfect partnership for us, and one that feels extremely interesting and inspiring. We are now joining a group with the same ambitions as us, where we can jointly continue to develop our flooring segment across the Nordic region. This is a big deal for everyone involved and we are very positive about becoming part of Layer Group,” says Pierre Nilsson, CEO of Golvimporten.
