Nordic Life Science Days 2022 is set to break the record for attendance, as fundamentals remain strong in one of the world’s leading biotech ecosystems.

Stockholm, September 8th – Held in Malmo from September 28-29th, Nordic Life Science Days (NLSDays) is the largest partnering conference for life sciences in the Nordic region. Through its partnering system, stage programme, and extensive list of exhibitors, it is a unique event showcasing the entire spectrum of life sciences in this dynamic region covering Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland.

Despite current financial upheavals, the fundamentals of Nordic life science remain strong – world leading research at top-ranked universities, cooperative health systems ready to test and adopt new ideas, a solid pharma base and innovative start-ups. This is reflected in the regions’ members being ranked so highly in the recent Nature Biotechnology World Review.

Olivier Duchamp-Giudicelli, Managing Director of NLSDays says: “We’re pleased to welcome a record number of delegates to this year’s Nordic Life Science Days. We’ve worked tirelessly since the conference’s inception in 2013 to create this unique place to do business in life sciencein the Nordics. The sheer amount of legacy attendees and growing number of first-time delegates is a testament to how hungry the sector is for what NLSDays have to offer.”

Strong international interest

"Furthermore, NLSDays’ standing as an international event continues to grow, 40% of delegates are from overseas and we have more than 125 foreign investors attending, representing 80 investing firms,Olivier Duchamp-Giudicelli says.

In addition to individual international delegates, NLSDays will feature country pavilions from the US, UK, Ireland, Spain, Lithuania, Finland, Iceland, and Norway. Sweden and Denmark are represented through the organizations SwedenBIO, Business Sweden, and Medicon Valley Alliance.

Joe Panetta, president and CEO of Biocom California, is a part of the US delegation. He says: ”The global life science industry aims to cure disease, improve sustainability and increase food production, which are truly lofty goals that continually require new ways of thinking and working together.

“The Nordic life science ecosystem is built on a foundation of innovation and collaboration that is contributing to robust growth and capturing the interest of life science leaders from around the world. I am excited to see first-hand the sophisticated and forward-looking work that is occurring in this region.”

Frida Lawenius, Deputy CEO of SwedenBIO, the organization behind Nordic Life Science Days, says:

“The Nordics is a true hotspot for life sciences built on a foundation of cutting-edge science, an entrepreneurial mindset, innovative companies and a strong tradition of public–private partnerships. The region is a powerhouse of promising companies and solid collaborations across sectors and national borders. These are all good prerequisites for successful partnering and for building strong new international collaborations.”
