A unique drone flight will take place between Linköping and Norrköping on Thursday 6 October. The demo flight is part of a major European effort to demonstrate the benefits drones can offer society.
The flight will be carried out with a larger drone that will transport a ten kilo load between Malmen Airbase in Linköping and Norrköping Airport on an estimated 25-minute flight. The demo flight is a culmination of technical solutions, services and regulations that have been developed for unmanned aircraft in recent years and is part of the European concept for the operation of drones.
The potential benefits for society are significant. The expansion of airspace is a sustainable and cost-effective way to create added mobility. It will allow society to reduce costs and strain on the environment by supplementing ground-based infrastructure with infrastructure in the air. Municipalities will also be able to offer public services over greater distances.

The drone will be launched next to Malmen Airbase in Linköping at 15.30 and will land at Norrköping Airport at 16.00.

Seminars

In addition to the drone flight, seminars will be held on Thursday 6 October from 13-16 at Norrköping Airport and on Friday 7 October at IBG, Västgötegatan 15D in Norrköping. The seminars will be an opportunity to learn more about the latest research in Urban Air Mobility (UAM) and to get first person accounts from industry experts, as well as the results generated during the project.
Welcome to attend the seminars and the drone's landing at Norrköping Airport.  We kindly ask for your registration no later than Wednesday, October 5.
