A safeguard against harmful bacterial growth

The air duct solution for strictly antimicrobial environments

Silver - a natural antimicrobial for over 6000 years. Lindab now presents a ventilation duct system with AgION(TM) coating. This can be the first important step to creating a second line of defence against bacterial growth in environments, which should be strictly antimicrobial.

Bacteria, mould and mildew can grow and spread on surfaces that appear to be clean. Floors, ceilings, overhead pipes, passageway walls, process walls and doors are known reservoirs for damaging microbes, which, if they propagate, can have serious effects on the progress and economy of processes and research.

Silver ions for ongoing protection and a healthier environment

Lindab AgION(TM) is ductwork coated with an antimicrobial, inorganic compound from AgION Technologies. AgION(TM) begins to work after coming into contact with moisture so that the silver ions are slowly and continuously released from the coating surface of the duct. Silver ions act as a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent that inhibits cell reproduction and interrupts cell metabolism, thus preventing bacterial growth in the duct system and creating a healthier environment. The controlled release of silver ions offers long-lasting protection.
Lindab AgION(TM) does not replace routine cleaning of duct systems. It suppresses the growth of microbes in the system, creating a more hygienic environment.

The AgION(TM) coating contains silver ions in a zeolite matrix. Zeolite is an inorganic, ceramic material that is open and porous in structure. The silver ions reside within the lattice of the zeolite.
