CADvent® Honored in Instruments, Tools and Software Category

STAMFORD, Conn. (December 23, 2002) - Lindab Inc. received Honorable Mention in the inaugural AHR Expo Innovation Awards in recognition for the company's HVAC design software application, CADvent. This award, which promotes product innovation and excellence, is jointly sponsored by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE); the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute; and International Exposition Company, producers and organizers of the AHR Expo. Proceeds from the contest's entry fee will go to an HVAC&R scholarship fund at a Chicago-area vocational school.

Winners from each of the seven product categories were chosen by a panel of seven senior HVAC&R professionals selected by ASHRAE, who evaluated each entry on the merits of innovation, application, value to user and market impact. AHR Expo exhibitors were allowed to submit one product per company into the competition. CADvent was entered in the instruments, tools and software category.

CADvent - making an impact through value and innovation

CADvent is the only full-featured AutoCAD ® driven software application that consolidates all the tools required for drafting, engineering, estimating and presenting HVAC duct systems into one intuitive, professional and robust package. While other HVAC design packages provide basic drafting functions, CADvent allows designers to perform quickly the complex and time-consuming engineering functions of automatic duct sizing, sound and pressure drop calculations and system balancing. Further, it is the only integrated solution that guarantees its designs can be installed using real-world products with the proven accuracy of field-measured performance data.

Lindab's CADvent manager, Steve Emmons, stated, "We are thrilled that CADvent has been recognized by the AHR Expo Innovation Awards' committee for its unique ability to streamline and automate the entire duct design process. Our team is now working hard to enhance CADvent further by making it connect with our business software, so the HVAC designer can enjoy a true end-to-end business solution."

Live presentations of CADvent will be featured at the upcoming AHR Expo in Chicago, IL, and Demo CDs of CADvent will be available to those visiting Lindab's trade show booth (#3410).
