The visit to Lindab was part of the delegation's four-day trip to Sweden and Finland, with the aim to promote Luxembourg as a trade partner and choice for business location. Representatives from Lindab had been invited to a seminar in Stockholm the previous evening, to hear about "The Competitive Alternative in Europe" and "Business and Investment Opportunities in Luxembourg".

Luxembourg has a particular interest in Lindab due to the fact that during 2005 Lindab acquired the Luxembourg-based company, Astron - market-leader within pre-engineered steel construction in Europe.

"Luxembourg shows great commitment to their industry and wants to get to know the owners
of the more important employers, " says Lindab's CEO, Kjell Åkesson.

The delegation spent the entire morning at Lindab, visiting the different production units in Grevie and Förslöv, near the Swedish Head Quarters, which are located outside the town of Båstad in southern Sweden.

"They have good reason to feel comfortable with Lindab as owners of Astron, since the company cultures are similar and the merger has already brought about some very positive results, " says Kjell Åkesson.
