Lindab reports that its net sales for the second quarter of 2007 reached SEK 2,329 m (1,918) with a profit of SEK 330 million. This represents an improvement of 42 percent when compared with the same period last year.

"The Nordic countries and Western Europe have shown strong growth," says CEO and President Kjell Åkesson. "It is particularly positive that the margins have improved. This can be mainly explained by increasing internal efficiency as well as by focusing on core products."

In Eastern Europe demand remains strong. This is mainly shown through the increased sales for Ventilation, Building Components and a bigger order book for Building Systems.

The construction trend continues to be robust. A newly published forecast from Euroconstruct, for the building industry to the end of 2009, indicates continued growth for Lindab's markets. "We have every good reason to look positively at the future", says Kjell Åkesson.

"Our strong advance in the UK is noteworthy - sales have increased considerably in both business areas. Last year's acquisition of CCL Veloduct contributed according to plan and within Profile, our efforts with the roof drainage system, Rainline, have proven very successful."

Other important events during the period were the successful launch of the new duct system, Lindab Safe Click, a system that can be assembled without tools, therefore considerably simplifying installations. "We have received very positive reactions from both new and existing customers, which reinforces our conviction about the system's potential," concludes Kjell Åkesson.
