Lindab is a joint partner in the team that developed the suspended-ceiling concept Fusion, which has been honoured with the Danish Design Prize 2007. The Danish Design Prize is awarded to companies that create innovative products and solutions of high aesthetic and technical quality. The prize was presented by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik, at a gala event hosted at the Danish Design Centre in Copenhagen on March 29.

The jury remarked, "Simple and functional, unique quality, so beautiful that it goes almost unnoticed, suited for all types of rooms, conceptual design at its best.

Fusion is the result of close cooperation between Lindab, Rockfon, Louis Poulsen and the architect company Vilhelm Lauritzen. It is a concept where the suspended ceiling's many different functions, for example ventilation, air conditioning and lighting is integrated into one unit. All of the different elements are included from the start thereby creating a complete and aesthetic solution. All components can be installed by one technician in a single process. This saves time and minimises the risk of errors.

" We are delighted and honoured," says Hannu Paitula, business area manager for Lindab Ventilation. "At Lindab we are well-known for our know-how in creating solutions of high technical quality with strong customer benefits. In sharing the Danish Design Prize 2007, we have now also gained recognition for our design competence. This highlights how, through focus on function and aesthetics, we generate solutions that simplify construction".
