Edith Piaf brought back to life in promotional video for single "Mon Dieu" by Lorraine Brunning

Emerging British actress Lorraine Brunning was asked to record an album of French songs 'Comme Moi' to be released next year and it was suggested the promotional video for her first single 'Mon Dieu' just released, should have an Edith Piaf storyline. The video is extremely compelling, bring Edith Piaf back to life within the video which with a cinematic look and feel worthy of the iconic singer.

Distributed across 200 digital accounts such as Spotify, iTunes and Tesco Digital; the Mon Dieu download is currently being promoted on YouTube where we see Lorraine Brunning play the part of an emotionally fragile woman who is haunted by the spectre of Édith Piaf.

Mon Dieu is the first single from Lorraine Brunning's forthcoming album 'Comme Moi' which is due to be released in 2014. The album is produced with a theatre audience in mind and has all the credentials to remain on sale for long time.

Lorraine is to star in 'Piaf's Magician' by Matthew Hurt; commissioned by West End producers Beckman Unicorn for a 2014 première. Exploring the little-known relationship between Piaf and Jean Cocteau the play is set in Paris during the Second World War.

Lorraine Brunning Biography

Lorraine has a thriving solo singing career, having performed her Cabaret Français extensively in London at venues such as the Ritz and Pizza on the Park as well as internationally; most notably at various events for The United Nations Organisation.

Lorraine’s acting career began when she met and worked with the film director Mike Leigh. Since then she has spent her time working in both the theatre and television.

Her Theatre Credits include Cries from the Mammal House, Low Level Panic and Fallout for the Royal Court Theatre London; Édith Piaf in Piaf at the Piccadilly Theatre directed by Sir Peter Hall; Jonathan Harvey’s Rupert Street Lonely Hearts Club for the Donmar and the Criterion Theatre; Alan Bennett’s Lady in the Van at the Queens Theatre directed by Nick Hytner; Snoopy The Musical at the Duchess Theatre; Long Time Gone at the Lyric Theatre; Lysistrata at Wyndhams Theatre; Henceforward at the Vaudeville Theatre; Emma at the Tricycle Theatre and Animal Farm for the National Theatre. Lorraine has also been involved in seasons at Windsor, Northampton, Cheltenham, Derby, Watford Palace, Birmingham Repertory, Manchester Contact, Salisbury and Hornchurch. Roles have included LV in Little Voice, Mrs Sparsit in Hard Times, Jo in A Taste of Honey, Pattie in Season’s Greetings, Peter Pan in the Broadway Musical version and Sheila in An Inspector Calls
