SAN FRANCISCO – Load Impact, the cloud-based, on-demand load testing tool, today announced the opening of its office in San Francisco and the appointment of software as a service (SaaS) industry veteran, Charles Stewart as general manager of U.S. operations.

“Load Impact’s potential for growth is truly enormous,” said Stewart, who began his career in 1996 as director of Net Ops for Flycast Communications, a pioneering online application platform provider that was acquired by CMGI in 1999 for $1.4 billion.  “Basically, if your online presence is business-critical, then determining how well your website responds to various levels of usage – load testing – is totally business-critical, and Load Impact’s cloud-based services are the modern way to address that problem.”

Following Flycast, Stewart took on a variety of executive positions, from vice president of operations at Eballance, a provider of SaaS financial information aggregation services, and Trureq, a SaaS provider of a product lifecycle management solutions, to general manager of ColoServe, a datacenter and managed services provider.  More recently Stewart served as vice president of operations at AdiFY Corporation, a vertical network Saas service provider to the online advertising industry that was acquired by Cox Enterprises for $300 million, and senior vice president for IT Facilities Operations at Cox where he was responsible for consolidating and optimizing organization-wide IT infrastructure into infrastructure as a service (IaaS) platform capable of meeting demands of the Fortune 500 media company through visualization and other multi-tenant solutions.

Stewart joins Load Impact from mxHero, whose app platform empowers businesses to easily add security, efficiency, and detailed reporting to any major e-mail system, where he served as vice president of business development.

“Charles brings exactly the kind of industry and business-building knowhow we need to grow our share of the U.S. market,” said Ragnar Lönn, Load Impact founder and CEO.  “Even though we already have customers in 190 countries who have run over 800,000 load tests, we know the U.S. can and will be our biggest market as more and more small businesses, that have no technical expertise start load testing their sites, and huge companies that now use expensive software behind corporate firewalls move to much more cost effective, proven cloud-based load testing.”
