MOTHERS TAKE CHARGE TO ENSURE STUDENT SONS WASH BEHIND EARS
The UK’s first male grooming subscription service is set to help students look as ‘presentable’ as their mother’s would want – without the need for them to leave the pub for the shops. MenAreUseless.com, which delivers a letter-boxed sized, high quality, monthly pack of bathroom essentials, has found that a large proportion of initial sales have come from mothers of sons leaving for university for the first time. Paul Johnson, MenAreUseless.com founder, said: “We expected most of our delivery boxes to be ordered by men directly, but initial figures suggest many mothers are seeing our service as a way of keeping their sons stocked up with toiletries. Of course, most parents like to wave off their new undergraduates with a food parcel under their arm – now it appears they want to know there’s a bathroom essentials parcel turning up every month as well” Packs start from £9.99 per month (including delivery) and contain everything from shower gel and shampoo through to razors and shave gel. Gift pack subscriptions are also available. Paul Johnson adds: “I guess parents want to know at least a proportion of the money they give to their student children actually goes on useful items like razors and shower gel. By organising a monthly box delivery they are diverting money which might otherwise end up behind the student bar” -Ends -
