Interactive Voice Reaches $40,000 Kickstarter Goal for ivee Sleek in 30 Hours, Announces $150,000 Stretch Goal and a New Voter’s Choice Reward
Company raised funds to allow ivee Sleek, the first Wi-Fi voice-activated assistant for the home, to come to life and to connect the Internet of Things in your home.

Interactive Voice, a pioneer in voice-controlled electronics, is thrilled to announce its Kickstarter campaign launched on June 18, 2013 surpassed its $40,000 fundraising goal for ivee Sleek in less than 30 hours. ivee Sleek is the first Wi-Fi voice-activated assistant for the home that answers questions, obeys commands and controls other Internet-connected devices. Entering the ninth day of the campaign, ivee Sleek has more than doubled her original goal with nearly 500 backers and more than $86,000 already pledged.
Fans of voice-activated technology might remember Moshi, the original voice-activated talking alarm clock from the same innovators who now bring you ivee Sleek, Moshi’s way cooler and smarter little sister.
“We were proud of Moshi’s success, but ivee Sleek finally fulfills our true vision of a connected virtual assistant device for the home,” said Jonathon Nostrant, founder of ivee. “Hitting our new stretch goal will give us the resources to connect ivee with so many more Internet-connected devices and smarthome platforms.”
Since ivee Sleek reached her original goal, Interactive Voice announced today a stretch goal of $150,000 for the campaign along with a new $249 Voter’s Choice pledge reward!
Announced today, the new $249 pledge reward will allow backers to vote for which products ivee Sleek will connect with first.
“In the last year we’ve seen so many Internet-connected devices and platforms come to market. Because there are so many choices, we decided to let our backers choose which devices ivee will connect with first,” continued Nostrant. Backers of the new $249 pledge will be able to vote for ivee’s connectivity by choosing a list of their top three choices. Products like FitBit, Lockitron, WiThings, and SmartThings, have already been listed, but if there is an option that’s not on there, no problem, the ivee team is open to making any device work with ivee, as long as it has an open API (application programmer interface).
ivee Sleek ($199 MSRP) will begin shipping in October 2013. When she ships, she will come equipped with her first batch of applications, including: alarms, weather, stocks, sleep sounds, bedtime stories and much more. Additionally, ivee’s online dashboard will allow users to personalize their experience with ivee and connect ivee Sleek to many third party smart home devices like thermostats, locks, lights, plugs, vacuums, and more.
The funding period for the ivee Sleek Kickstarter campaign ends on Sunday, July 21 at 1:46 a.m. EDT and, at this funding rate, she is slated to raise an estimated $383,000.
