The Boomerang Project’s anti-bullying programs, Link Crew and WEB, offer regional Basic Training courses for new Link Crew and WEB coordinators, now through June

SANTA CRUZ, CAJanuary 24, 2012 – The Boomerang Project, a company which trains educators to facilitate peer mentoring in schools using leadership and group development methodologies, is excited to announce that training sessions for their high school and middle level bullying prevention programs, Link Crew and WEB, are currently being hosted throughout the US and Canada, from now through June.

The Boomerang Project’s Basic Training programs offer educators step-by-step instructions on how to implement the program in schools via a three-day intensive training. Whether they are trailblazers bringing the program to their schools for the first time or new members of an existing program, educators will be challenged, have fun, and return to their schools with the tools, strategies and energy to implement successful Link Crew and WEB bullying prevention programs.

Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, coordinators lead Link Crew and WEB peer mentoring programs that train upperclassmen to be Link Crew and WEB Leaders who set the example of how students should treat each other, thus changing the entire culture of schools across North America. As positive role models, these Link Crew and WEB Leaders are mentors and student leaders; they lead School Orientations, Academic Follow Ups, Social Follow Ups, and Leader Initiated Contacts to advise, unite, and inspire new students.

The Boomerang Project’s goal is to provide schools with a structure in which students make real connections with each other, thus leading to increased attendance, a safer school environment, decreased discipline referrals and improved academic performance. Over the last 20 years, The Boomerang Project’s peer-mentoring and anti-bullying programs have helped inspire behavioral change and improve academic achievement in over 3,000 schools, impacting over one million students each year, in 48 states and 4 Canadian provinces.
