Music fans will have the chance tomorrow (fri) to book their place at one of next year’s hottest events.

A limited number of advance tickets are being made available online for the Hebridean Celtic Festival which will be marking its 18th birthday.

The event is being held from 17-20 July, 2013 and tickets are being held at this year’s prices of £70 for the four days (£55 for concession and £15 for children under 14). They can be bought on the festival website – www.hebceltfest.com – from 10a.m.

The 2012 event - which was headlined by The Waterboys, The Proclaimers and Kassidy – saw a major expansion in programming and attracted visitors from 19 different countries.

Festival director Caroline Maclennan, said: “During the cold dark nights of winter it’s nice to look forward to the warm summer evenings with the festival in full swing.

“The advance tickets will make an ideal Christmas gift and also allow people who travel from afar to plan ahead and look forward to our 18th birthday party.

“Our unique setting and mixture of established names and promising new acts is a winning combination and we hope next year, being a significant milestone for us, will make the event especially memorable.”

This year saw visitors from Algeria, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Romania, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand and the US make the journey to Lewis, as well as many from across the UK.

The overseas contingent helped swell the ranks of the 120-strong volunteer army which worked behind the scenes, contributing over 3,500 unpaid man hours over the course of the four days.
