Lulu Expands Print Network to Serve Canadian Authors and Publishers
Open-publisher adds new international printers to reduce costs and shipping times, empowering authors and publishers to sell more books.
Raleigh, NC, May 23rd, 2011 – Lulu.com, the leader in open-publishing, is proud to announce the expansion of its global print network to Canada.
All of Lulu’s products from hardcover and paperback books, to photo books, cookbooks and calendars will be manufactured and distributed in Canada. While Canadian customers can expect to see upwards of 45 percent lower shipping costs and packages delivered in less than three days due to the proximity of these facilities to creators in these regions.
“This investment is simply to serve the growing demand from Canadian authors and publishers, given the current publishing climate in Canada,” says Bob Young, Canadian Founder and CEO of Lulu.com. “Expanding our global print network to include Canada is just one more way we’re making Lulu the most cost-effective and convenient option available for creators to sell more books to more readers both in Canada and around the world.”
Lulu saw a 44 percent growth in Canadian creators last year with authors making upwards of $165,000 and selling thousands of copies of their works.
