Bud Light Platinum to Debut First TV Ads in Game
February 2, 2012, (New York) On Feb. 5, the long-awaited unofficial American holiday, Super Bowl Sunday, finally arrives – with millions of viewers tuning in to Super Bowl XLVI to catch not only the action on the field, but also the most exciting and entertaining ad lineup of the year. Now in its 24th consecutive year as the Super Bowl’s exclusive malt beverage category advertiser, Anheuser-Busch will debut four-and-a-half minutes of new creative during NBC’s broadcast of the game.
Super Bowl mainstays Bud Light and Budweiser will headline Anheuser-Busch’s lineup with two ads each. Bud Light, the official beer sponsor of the NFL, will continue its “Here We Go” campaign, highlighted by a “secret spot” at the end of the second quarter. Budweiser will evolve its successful “Grab Some Buds” campaign with two 60-second ads, one of which will feature the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales.
The company’s newest brand, Bud Light Platinum, will make its national advertising debut with two 30-second ads on Super Sunday. The inclusion of Bud Light Platinum represents a major investment in Anheuser-Busch’s latest innovation, and supports the national rollout of the new beer, which hit shelves on Monday, January 30.
Millions of adult consumers annually rank Anheuser-Busch’s commercials among their favorites during the Super Bowl broadcast and as the Official Beer Sponsor of the NFL, the company will be featured prominently in this year’s game.
