Mike The Pike Productions, Inc.’s Spokefish Secures Critically Lauded Pawel Sambor for ‘Bulderlyns’
Artist to breathe fire into dragons of Spokefish lore
FORT WAYNE, IN –February 7, 2011- Mike The Pike Productions, Inc.(OTC: MIKP)(www.mtpprods.com) is thrilled to announce that its Graphic Novel partnership, Spokefish, LLP, has attached artist Pawel Sambor as inker/colorist on its fire-breathing fantasy, ‘Bulderlyns’, about a town besieged by mythical beasts as a result of a well-intended gift gone wrong from a business man to his young son after a trip overseas.
Sambor is no stranger to Spokefish as he is also currently working on the title design for the company’s ‘R.E.M.’, which the team hopes will give a new meaning to the term ‘sleeper hit’. As well, Sambor and Bulderlyn’s writer, Spokefish co-founder Ryan Colucci, have recently collaborated on the success which is ‘Harbor Moon’ (www.harbor-moon.com).
Harbor Moon is receiving countless reviews with flattering remarks on the work overall with several nods to Pawel Sambor’s talents. The most recent review (http://www.comicbookbin.com/Harbor_Moon001.html) by Comic Book Bin reviewer, Andy Frisk, says that 'Harbor Moon will rightfully take its place with the greats of sequential art gothic literature.' The review goes on to state, “Sambor crafts a setting and atmosphere reminiscent of the moody setting of an early X-Files episode (another example of gothic literature actualized in cinematic form). Sketchy background details (usually something that I abhor) and heavily painted shadows set the tone magnificently, as if the reader is constantly attempting to pierce the darkness and mystery surrounding the town and its inhabitants. Sambor’s art powerfully highlights the theme of mystery and discovery that is central the story of Harbor Moon. Rarely does Sambor give us a complete view of the werewolves that populate the town of Harbor Moon. This goes a long way in leaving the horror up to our imaginations, and our imaginations are far worse than anything visualized on the printed page.
Spokefish partner and project manager, Ryan Colucci, comments in his blog last week: “Some really good news to share. Pawel Sambor, who did everything on Harbor Moon has come onboard my graphic novel Bulderlyns as an inker/colorist. It is safe to say that the one thing about Harbor Moon everyone raves about (over everything else) is the coloring. So to get him for this book is a major coup. Igor Wolski's pencils with Pawel's colors are going to be killer.”
Mike the Pike Productions, CEO, Mark B. Newbauer is thrilled with the progress being made on the Spokefish slate. “This is a highly advantageous undertaking for MTP as it not only positions us in the Graphic Novel industry, but also adds to potential success in the feature film realm, which is our supplementary goal with each of the projects we take on with Spokefish. We have exciting news on that note later this month.”

Pawel Sambor is an alumnus of Poland's top art school, receiving his Master of Arts from Radom University of Technology. Pawel, specializing in photorealism, burst onto the comic scene at San Diego Comic-Con 2010 with his unique vision for the graphic novel Harbor Moon (www.harbor-moon.com).
Bulderlyns is written by Spokefish partner and project manager, Ryan Colucci, an alumnus of the prestigious Peter Stark Producing MFA Program at USC. He received his BA in Film Studies and Production from Hofstra University, graduating Suma Cum Laude. Before that he pursued a degree in Accounting from Villanova University and spent a year at Cambridge University in England studying Economics.
