Ecodan animations highlight easy access to renewable heat pumps

Mitsubishi Electric has launched two new online videos to highlight the benefits of renewable heat pump technology for both homeowners and landlords.

The first animation focuses on how the Ecodan range can offer reduced running costs, ease installation and lower carbon emissions for social housing providers and landlords. Not only do organisations operating in this sector need to help combat fuel poverty amongst tenants, they also face increasing pressure to lower their organisation’s overall carbon footprint.

The second video looks at the issues from a homeowner’s point of view and highlights how renewable Ecodan can provide a viable, cost-effective alternative to the escalating price of oil heating.

Both can be viewed on the company’s website (www.heating.mitsubishielectric.co.uk) and the dedicated Youtube site www.youtube.com/user/mitsubishielectric2.

“We have created these films as part of a campaign of increasing awareness of heat pumps in advance of the launch of the Renewable Heat Incentive,” explains Graham Temple, Marketing Communications Manager.

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme has been designed to reduce the payback period for both commercial and domestic heat pumps and encourage more people to adopt low carbon heating systems. It will see homeowners and landlords receive a quarterly payment – which can amount to hundreds of pounds, for the next seven years.

“As we build up to the official launch of the RHI scheme, we expect interest in renewable technologies to grow,” adds Temple. “We know that heat pumps can provide one of the quickest and most cost-effective ways of capitalising on RHI payments and these films highlight just how easy it can be to get a heat pump installed.”

Mitsubishi Electric is the market leader in heat pumps with the Ecodan range available in individual domestic units from 4kW right up to commercial systems that will deliver 688kW of heating.  The system is already installed in thousands of homes across the UK and is being specified for more commercial projects, such as schools and student accommodation, as well as district heating systems.
