Mitsubishi Electric receives supply side acclaim from Willmott Dixon Construction

Mitsubishi Electric has been awarded a prestigious Willmott Dixon Construction Supplier Award in recognition of the manufacturer’s role in supporting the drive to increase efficiencies and quality on site, whilst reducing overall costs.

As one of the UK’s largest privately-owned capital works, regeneration and support services companies, Willmott Dixon Construction is constantly seeking ways to improve quality and reduce cost in the construction industry. The company issues awards at an annual Supply Chain Conference for subcontractors, indirect suppliers and manufacturers.

Mitsubishi Electric has provided air conditioning and renewable heating solutions to the company for several years now and has looked for ways to engage with Willmott Dixon Construction to increase understanding of the company’s requirements.

“We have asked our staff to provide evidence and feedback on the performance of our suppliers and we have had several excellent reports on the support provided by Mitsubishi Electric,” explained Keith Treharne, Supply Chain Manager for Willmott Dixon Construction, Wales and South West England.

“They have been recorded as being particularly persistent and supportive and have provided Willmott Dixon with tangible benefits at both preconstruction and construction stages.”

Since its foundation in 1852, Willmott Dixon has become one of the country’s most recognisable brands for the built environment and is currently led by Group Chief Executive, Rick Willmott, who is the fifth generation of the family-owned group.

Mitsubishi Electric has worked with the Group for several years and Keith Treharne was full of praise for the company’s Richard Warry, who he describes as being “exceptionally keen and persistent.”

“Richard has engaged directly with several Willmott Dixon staff in order to increase the drive for quality and efficiency and several colleagues have mentioned how he typifies the approach from Mitsubishi Electric,” he explained.

“We have always been driven by the desire to deliver quality in everything we do and for this to continue to happen, we know that we need positive engagement from our entire supply chain. Mitsubishi Electric and Richard Warry in particular have fully embraced this approach and this is why they have received our thanks and recognition.”
