Mitsubishi Electric uses Ecobuild to show true value of heat pumps

Mitsubishi Electric is inviting everyone planning to attend Ecobuild (ExCel, London, 5–7 March) to drop by its stand (N3110) to see how heat pump technology is already helping to reduce carbon emissions and lower fuel bills in both old and new buildings throughout the country.

The company’s product range includes advanced air to water heat pumps for both commercial and residential use, with the market-leading Ecodan® range of air source heat pumps, already installed in thousands of homes from the Isle of Sky to the Isle of Wight.

Commercially, the Ecodan CAHV – fully scalable up to 688kW, is already being used to provide heating for several schools as well as serving as a community heating system for a homeless centre and flats in London.

Mitsubishi Electric’s line-up also include state-of-the-art air conditioning systems that not only simultaneously heat and cool, but also transfer heat around a building and supply all the hot water a business needs.

“We want building professionals to realise that as an industry, we have the technology, the skills and the installation base to make a difference right now,” explains Martin Fahey, Sustainable Solutions Manager for the Hatfield-based company.

“That is why we are investing in showing off real world examples of projects that are using existing renewable technologies to both improve energy performance and lower carbon emissions.”

Mitsubishi Electric will also hold a special CPD-Accredited seminar focusing on the application of heat pumps in both domestic and community heating schemes on Tuesday 5th March between 10:00-11:00 in the special CPD Arena. The presenters, Max Halliwell and James Timbs-Harrison, will use real examples to highlight the benefits of the technology.

In addition, the company’s Commercial Director, Donald Daw will present a seminar on the specification and performance monitoring of air source heat pumps between 15:30 and 18:00 in Ecobuild Seminar Room 11 on Wednesday.

Mitsubishi Electric will highlight the value of its Lossnay mechanical heat recovery ventilation system, which can recover up to 80 per cent of the heating energy normally lost with other fresh air systems. On display for the first time will be a heating-only range of air conditioning systems and a Wi-Fi controller that will enable greater internet-based control for even more products.

The company will also display its range of advanced control systems, which can link heating and air conditioning units to other building systems to offer advanced, energy saving control.
