Pro-Mec green award donation goes to life-saving Air Ambulance
Leading M&E Contractor, Pro-Mec UK Ltd has recently donated £1,000 to the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity after receiving an award for its pioneering environmental work as part of Mitsubishi Electric’s ‘Green Gateway Awards’.
The Awards were created by Mitsubishi Electric to recognise the important contribution of its partners in encouraging energy efficiency in the built environment and, in addition to a trophy the winner receives the donation to a charity of their choice.
Pro-Mec UK Ltd operates across the whole of the UK from its Head Office in Cannock, Staffordshire and specialises in all forms of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and electrical Installations.
“Deciding on Midlands Air Ambulance Charity was easy for me as so many of us travel the motorways and these guys are there to help if things go drastically wrong”, explained Pro-Mec’s Martin Chetter.
“The charity provides a truly life-saving service but it receives no Government or National Lottery funding and has to rely entirely on public support”, adds Chetter.
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is responsible for funding and operating three air ambulances serving the communities of six Midlands counties: Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. This constitutes the largest air ambulance operating region in the UK.
Since 1991, the charity has responded to more than 42,000 missions averaging 2,000 per year, making it one of the longest established and busiest air ambulance organisations in the UK.
The charity’s three aircraft each carry a crew comprising pilot, two paramedics or flight doctors plus full life-support medical equipment. Operating from strategically located regional airbases, 90 per cent of the region is within reach within eight minutes.
If a patient reaches hospital within the Golden Hour (60 minutes after their injury) their chances of survival are dramatically increased. That is why the rapid response of the Midlands Air Ambulance is so vital in an emergency situation.
“These guys are unsung heroes and I’d urge anyone who drives to look at their website and see how you can help”, ends Chetter.
