Mitsubishi Electric has launched two new pre-plumbed and pre-wired hot water cylinders for the Ecodan monobloc range to offer a renewable heating solution with one of the smallest footprints on the market.

The 150 litre and 180 litre stainless steel cylinders are ideal for new-build properties where space is at a premium, as well as retro-fit situations where they can offer the installer more flexibility in location and design.

Delivering space heating and domestic hot water in the smallest space possible, the units still offer optimum performance and an advanced, yet simple to use graphical interface controller.

“We have listened to our customers and developed a slimline cylinder that still delivers all of the advanced facilities that Ecodan is renowned for,” explains John Kellett, General Manager of the company’s Heating Systems Division.

With heights of 1880mm and 1950mm, the cylinders have a 30-35 per cent smaller footprint and are fully compatible with Mitsubishi Electric’s wireless room controllers.

Designed and manufactured in the UK, both the ECOSLIM-150L-PP-MEUK and the ECOSLIM-180L-PP-MEUK offer a hybrid function for use in tandem with conventional boilers.  The hybrid capability enables existing premises with existing, high-carbon systems to benefit from Ecodan’s award-winning renewable heating performance.

The pre-programmed SD card enables installers and heating engineers to pre-programme the heating system to offer fast on-site commissioning.

Both the 150l and 180l Slimline models are single zone to ensure that they are competitively priced.  An optional 2-zone extension kit is also available should the customer require it.

The cylinders use Mitsubishi Electric’s FTC4 controller, complete with an integrated immersion heater relay and intelligent controls which offer room compensation capabilities to regulate the flow temperature according to need.
