A PASSION FOR BUILDINGS AND PEOPLE NETS ARK FRAMEWORK CONTRACT FOR MJ FERGUSON
Innovative facilities maintenance and services provider MJ Ferguson (www.mjferguson.co.uk) has been selected to provide mechanical and electrical, planned and reactive maintenance services for three academies within the Ark network of Academies – thanks to its passion for putting people, their buildings and environment first.
Initially, MJ Ferguson will be providing a full range of mechanical and electrical (M&E) maintenance services including a biomass boiler, access control, fire, security, lighting and catering equipment maintenance. It will also deliver M&E services to another independent school which shares some of its services with its neighbouring Ark academy. All its staff and specialist contractors are subject to enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance checks, providing added peace of mind for those involved in safeguarding.
MJ Ferguson was selected because it has considerable experience in the education sector and will be working in partnership with Ark to create Innovative Learning Spaces (ILS) for productive and inspirational learning environments for students.

Ark Academies recently put its M&E maintenance out to the market for UK FM companies to provide framework support and MJ Ferguson was ranked highly in the framework lots they tendered for.
Martin White also added: “The contract went to tender and MJ Ferguson came out top in terms of cost, quality and value. As part of the process MJ Ferguson supplied references to qualify its capabilities and Ark was re-assured that we deliver what we say we deliver.
“The Lilian Baylis Technology School in particular was extremely happy with the work we are doing for them and was pleased to provide us with an excellent reference. We recently delivered a fit-out project for the school and provide a full range of hard services including mechanical and electrical maintenance, heating ventilation and air conditioning.”
MJ Ferguson will be providing framework support, initially for three years, for Ark Boulton and Ark Chamberlain – both located in Birmingham – as well as for Ark All Saints Academy in London. It will also provide services for Highshore School which is not part of the Ark organisation but shares the heating services with Ark All Saints Academy.
Commenting on the contract David Allen, facilities and premises manager at Ark, said: “MJ Ferguson was selected to supply the M&E maintenance for Ark All Saints due to its very detailed and well thought-out tender submission which scored very highly in the three key areas of staffing, customer care and service delivery.
“The contract for the two schools in Birmingham was based on a straight comparison between the submissions from three companies. MJ Ferguson was awarded the contract because its prices were balanced and adequately reflected the actual requirements of the contract.
