Montgomery College Earns All Four 2014 Alliance for Workplace Excellence Awards
Montgomery College will receive the Workplace Excellence Seal of Approval, the Health and Wellness Seal of Approval Award, the EcoLeadership Award and the Diversity Champion Award from the Alliance for Workplace Excellence, a nonprofit organization that recognizes “Excellent Places to Work.”
The Alliance will recognize Montgomery College and other area employers at its annual awards ceremony on May 20 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center. This year marks the 10th year in a row that Montgomery College will receive the Seal of Approval, the ninth straight year for the Trailblazer Award and the fifth time that the College has earned the EcoLeadership honors. This is the second year for the Diversity Champion Award and the College has won both years.
“The faculty, staff and administrators, all of whom work every day to empower our students and enrich our community, are the catalysts behind Montgomery College being an excellent place to work,” said Nadine Porter, vice president of human resources, development and engagement at Montgomery College. “As an employer, Montgomery College is committed to enhancing employee engagement at every level of our organization.”
The Alliance has recognized the Washington, DC area’s best places to work for the past 15 years, plus recognizes health and wellness trailblazers and EcoLeaders dedicated to creating sustainable workplaces. The 66 winning companies in 2014 are from all across the US, with the majority being concentrated in the greater DC area. The winners represent more than one million employees from organizations of all sizes and in all sectors—private, public and nonprofit.
All award applicants must undergo a rigorous assessment process led by an independent review panel of professors, professionals and doctoral candidates in business, industrial and organizational psychology and human resources. For more information, visit http://www.excellentworkplace.org.
