On September 16, 1946, the first Montgomery College classes were held in the evenings at a local high school with a student body of 186 men and women. Today, the College has grown to a multi-campus institution and serves nearly 60,000 students a year, through both credit and noncredit programs, in more than 100 areas of study.

MdBio Foundation Funds Scholarships for Montgomery College Students Preparing for Science Careers

The MDBio Foundation has awarded Montgomery College a $10,000 grant to support students pursuing careers in the sciences. The funds will provide scholarships for up to 10 students during the 2015–16 academic year who are studying biotechnology, life science, chemistry, or biochemistry. The scholarship continues a strong partnership between the two institutions. Since 2007, the MDBio Foundation has supported the education of 56 students through scholarships. “Building students’ interest in STEM education and careers is an important component of the MdBio Foundation’s mission,”

I sat in my first community college class when I was 6 years old. After my mother's death, I lived with an aunt who was taking certification classes for an in-home day care license.
