About Us

On September 16, 1946, the first Montgomery College classes were held in the evenings at a local high school with a student body of 186 men and women. Today, the College has grown to a multi-campus institution and serves nearly 60,000 students a year, through both credit and noncredit programs, in more than 100 areas of study.

Film Festival, Presentations, STEP AFRIKA! Highlight Montgomery College Humanities Days, Oct. 16-17

The Global Humanities Institute and the Paul Peck Humanities Institute at Montgomery College have organized two days of student work, poster sessions, moderated films, faculty presentations and writing workshops, October 16 and 17, to celebrate the humanities and their effects on society. Humanities Days culminate with a capstone performance by renowned dance troupe, STEP AFRIKA!, Thursday, October 17 at the Cultural Arts Center on the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus.
