Mott MacDonald’s Group Building Information Modeling (BIM) champion, Richard Shennan, will be presenting a paper at the Roof and Façade Conferences and Exhibition 2011 about the use of ‘BIM for designing energy efficient buildings - coordinating process and fabrication workflow’.

The conference, taking place on 15 – 16 November 2011 at the Hotel Le Royal Meridian in Chennai, India, will look at the latest solutions, products and technologies aimed at producing a sustainable environment for the building and construction industry.

In his presentation Richard will look at how BIM adds value to projects and how it can be used to develop an integrated project delivery approach that integrates people, systems and business in order to produce value added outcomes. Richard will also discuss the challenges facing the acceptance of BIM as the industry norm such as the need for a strategic and tactical shift in mindset.

Richard Shennan said: “BIM is fundamentally changing the way industry professionals work and it is creating a more collaborative and integrated approach to project design and management than ever before. Mott MacDonald is an early adopter of BIM and underpinning our use is an unparalleled track record of innovation and excellence, embracing our technical, commercial and management solutions. Asia is a real growth area and my presentation will demonstrate how we deliver solutions that add real value to our customers.”
